In a major step toward addressing health disparities in our community, Cultivate is pleased to announce it will receive $25,000 for its Safety Net Service programs through Centura Healthcare’s Health Equity & Advancement Fund. Centura Health established the annual $5 million community grant program to extend the impact of community efforts focused on advancing social justice through initiatives that extend health equity across Colorado and Western Kansas.  The fund further supports Centura’s vision of every community, every neighborhood, every life - whole and healthy.

Executive Director Chrysti Britt says, “Cultivate is honored to be selected for funding from the Centura Health Equity and Advancement Fund. Our programs are designed to help older adults flourish in their community with services delivered by our 900+ volunteers. Cultivate’s programs provide our senior neighbors access to grocery delivery, medical transportation, home repair services and more. We appreciate the financial support that helps us continue our mission.”

“By supporting organizations like Cultivate through the Centura Health Equity and Advancement Fund, we are bringing new opportunities to enhance the health and wellbeing of our region,” said Oswaldo Grenardo, MD, SVP and Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer at Centura Health.  “By supporting services that help seniors access groceries, medical transportation, safety-related repairs in their home and snow removal, this new and expanded community partnership will allow us to reach people who might otherwise continue to struggle.  It is truly a blessing to be here for those that our mission calls us to serve.”

Cultivate is one of 61 recipients across Colorado and Kansas selected to receive the grant.  Projects being funded will begin in the Fall of 2022 and must be completed by August, 2023.  Grant recipients include 501(c)(3) tax exempt nonprofits, community organizations using a nonprofit 501(c)(3) as a fiscal sponsor and educational institutions based in Colorado or Kansas and within 50 miles of a Centura facility.

The Centura Health Equity & Advancement Fund was launched in 2021 in support of Centura Health’s commitment to Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) across their vibrant communities in Colorado and Western Kansas.  Their commitment to social justice lies in Centura’s Core Values and Mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ, and from their Adventist and Catholic founders, who teach that all people are made in the image of God and so possess an equal and inalienable worth. The next Health Equity & Advancement Fund grant will open in the Spring of 2023.
