We Are Cultivate

(formerly Boulder County CareConnect)

Over the past year, we have been working toward changing our name to better reflect who we are and where we're going as an organization. We are excited to announce that we have arrived...Boulder County CareConnect is now Cultivate!

We help seniors reconnect—as recipients and contributors—with their surrounding communities.

While we do have a new name and look, know that our passion for helping seniors flourish through active engagement with their community remains unchanged. Visit our blog to learn more about our new name and visual brand, or browse the FAQs below. If you have additional questions, please contact us or send us a tweet @cultivatengo.

Frequently Asked Questions

The name was selected because, at our core, it is what we have done for 46 years and continue to do today. We’ve cultivated volunteerism, we’ve cultivated relationships, and we’ve cultivated the flourishing of seniors in the community. In both symbolic and practical ways, the name Cultivate represents the depth of who we are and what we do. Additionally, Cultivate is a short, distinctive, easily-remembered name that will help create greater awareness of our brand and impact in the community.

After years of struggling to communicate to the community who we are and what we want to accomplish as an organization, we realized that changes were needed. In addition to inadequately representing our organization’s identity, our former name was too long and hard to say, and sometimes misidentified us as a government agency. As a result of these factors, we realized that changing our name was a necessary step for us.

Our new logo embodies the very ideas and values we embrace as an organization. In the full logo, the mark above the “i”–which can also individually represent our brand–represents the sun. The sun rises and sets, illustrating the beauty of the cycle of life. This communicates our passion for embracing seniors as vital members of the community and helping them flourish in their stage of life. The mark can also be viewed as a group of petal shapes surrounding a circle, representing our belief in the importance of and power in coming together as a community.

Through the process of changing our name, we realized that the depth of our mission was not being communicated through our mission statement. Because of this, we chose to update the formal statement to better reflect the core of who we are and the ways we are growing as an organization. Rather than just providing direct services to seniors, our deeper mission is to help seniors flourish through active engagement with their community.
