It was once said of Nancy Chin-Wagner that she is a “walking Linked-In,” and anyone who has met her would know exactly why. Nancy has spent her life creating connections between people, and in a crowd, there is always someone who knows Nancy. She puts all of this connection and knowledge to use professionally in her work as a networking coach and by hosting mastermind groups. She also uses her time to spread the word about the non-profits she works with, and for 13 years, she has been an amazing supporter of Cultivate.

Like many, Nancy came to Colorado for the outdoor adventures, but she is originally from the Bronx. Her Mother, a war bride from China, had 5 children who remained in China when she emigrated, so Nancy was the first child to be born in the United States. She continued to be the first in her family to do many things, like attend and graduate from college, although her younger siblings soon followed in her footsteps. After marrying and living in Richmond, VA for a time, she made her way to Boulder with her husband and family.

Nancy found Cultivate through a former Board Member, Jan Berg, and began volunteering with the Carry-Out Caravan program. She delivered regularly and really loved the connection she made with the clients. Her support of Cultivate eventually led her to her role on the board, and she makes sure to tell people that what we offer is so much more than just our services. She felt it first hand when she delivered to clients and formed relationships, which were often just as important as the food in her grocery bags.

Although she is often out working with others, Nancy prefers to spend her free time on more quiet activities, just her and her husband. Whether it is hiking, talking or going on dates, she takes the opportunity in her free time to find some peace. In fact, the idea of putting time to its best use is very important to Nancy. She often asks of her clients “What are you going to do now?” She always wants their time and hers to be used, as time is really quite precious.

A positive person of action, Nancy has recently started to share her skills by volunteering with a global networking non-profit. A perfect position for our very own “Walking Linked-In.” She hopes to help it grow and thrive, just like she helped Cultivate over these many years.
