Funding Spotlight
Frasier, a Boulder retirement community, recently gifted grand funds to six local organizations offering essential services to older adults in Boulder County, and Cultivate was one of the recipients. Funds, totaling $144,500, for these agencies are provided through the Frasier Community Resource Fund Endowment that was established in 2021 as part of Frasier's social responsibility efforts.
The following organizations are the 2023 recipients of the Frasier Community Resource Fund:
- Boulder Housing Partners Foundation ($30,000)
- Dental Aid ($29,500)
- Cultivate ($25,000)
- Boulder County Area Agency on Aging ($20,000)
- City of Boulder Older Adult Services ($20,000)
- Nederland Area Seniors ($20,000)
Cultivate will use these funds to enhance the services we currently provide to older adults. We will curate and provide training to staff and volunteers on how to recognize changes in older adults that may be of note to our clients and their family members.
“Working alongside our volunteers, clients and loved ones, Cultivate is eager to gather input and feedback on how our services can help provide even more peace of mind for our community. Our volunteers are an integral part of our clients’ lives, and we want to make sure our interactions further enhance the wellbeing of everyone involved in our programs. With funds from Frasier, we can create a program that allows us to do just that” says Chrysti Britt, Executive Director of Cultivate.
Seniors for Seniors, a task force committee comprised of Frasier residents, provides stewardship of the endowment. The committee spent several months researching the unmet needs of seniors in Boulder County and learning what non-profit organizations are doing to help overcome funding challenges. Seniors for Seniors members established the grant criteria, reviewed proposals, and visited each organization to better understand their mission and how they might use grants.
“What can $20,000 to $30,000 do? So much! These organizations are just so excited.” Frasier VP of Marketing and Advancement Colleen Ryan Mallon remarked. “The Seniors for Seniors team is heartened that their staff is so dedicated. Frasier is delighted that we can make a difference for them.”
Going forward, the Frasier Seniors for Seniors committee will annually distribute funds to area non-profit senior service organizations through grant submissions and a diligent selection process.
