Chrysti R. Britt

Chrysti R. Britt

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Chrysti has been with Cultivate since 2015. Her passion is supporting underserved and underrepresented populations. After watching her mom become the primary caregiver for her aging grandfather, she was inspired to focus on advocating for seniors.

Chrysti’s extensive background in civil services, emergency medical services, human services, and higher education has enabled her to build partnerships between an array of community agencies and organizations across many disciplines. She holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Criminal Justice focusing on Global Issues and has conducted postgraduate research centered around the Impacts of Societal Gender Norms on Juvenile Delinquency.

Chrysti’s community involvement has included medical care for jail inmates; supporting first-generation college students and DREAMERS looking for equitable education opportunities; assisting in disaster recovery; building pathways to support youth sports and programming; and supporting Veteran causes and organizations. Chrysti was honored with the 2020 Women Who Light the Community recognition for her contributions to the communities she cares about.

Chrysti is a Colorado native and the proud mom of her daughter attending the University of Wyoming College of Law, twin high school boys, and two spoiled fur babies. In her free time, you can find her reconnecting with nature on her motorcycle, trying to land the perfect jump on her wakeboard, or some other exciting adventure with her partner and kids.

Sharon Greene

Sharon Greene

DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

A Boulder County resident since 1970, Sharon knew at an early age that she had a calling to help seniors. At age 11, she began volunteering as a candy striper at Boulder Community Hospital and has stayed connected to the local senior community ever since. Many, many years later, in 2013, when the opportunity to work at Cultivate presented itself, Sharon knew it was a perfect match!

Sharon has an extensive background in Administration and Operations, Customer Support, and Construction/Home Repairs. She enjoys animated movies and TV shows and never takes herself too seriously. When she’s not indulging her goofy side, she’s reading mystery novels, bopping to music, walking her dog, gardening, cheering on her favorite sports teams, or spending time with her high school sweetheart-turned-husband.

Sharon feels right at home when connecting with and supporting our senior clients and volunteers, a group she thinks society often casts aside. Believing that seniors pave the way for future generations, Sharon cherishes being able to give back to them through her work as Director of Operations.

Mitchell Elder

Mitchell Elder

PROGRAM SPECIALIST

Mitchell is a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and comes from a close-knit family. He enjoys good music, plays guitar, and hopes to own a record store someday. Most of Mitchell’s family works for American Indian organizations, and their dedication to helping their community is what motivates him to always put others before himself.

Tired of working jobs only for a paycheck, Mitchell wanted a job where he could do good for others and feel good about his work. As a Program Specialist at Cultivate, he has the opportunity to do just that by connecting volunteers and seniors in need. And with a last name like Elder, it was just meant to be.

Katie Ellenwood

Katie Ellenwood

PROGRAM SPECIALIST

Katie grew up in a tiny town in Indiana surrounded by corn fields. Over ten years ago, she took a leap of faith and moved to Colorado. She’s called Boulder home ever since. Katie enjoys all the outdoor activities that Colorado has to offer. If she’s not doing yoga or skiing, she’s hiking, mountain biking, or enjoying live music.

Katie’s career has focused on helping others through her work in childcare and for nonprofits. She’s inspired to be a good human by her mom, a retired nurse who spends her free time training for half marathons and delivering flowers to hospice patients. Katie brings her generous spirit into her position as a Program Specialist and is excited to be supporting seniors in our community.

Cam Low

Cam Low

PROGRAM SPECIALIST | BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Cam is a Boulder Native who takes great pride in her hometown. She is a graduate of CU Boulder, an avid Buffs fan, and a volunteer for the Boulder Alumni Chapter and Buffs4Life as well as an Ambassador for the Boulder Chamber. She also enjoys yoga, photography, dancing, and going to concerts especially if they are the 80s (decade) oriented!

Though her background is in Advertising and Marketing, she feels like she has found her true calling at Cultivate helping seniors as a Program Specialist. Born into a large Chinese family, she has been raised to always respect and care for her elders. Serving seniors comes naturally to her and doesn’t feel like work; rather, it’s an honor. Cam is excited to foster relationships with our clients and volunteers and to help market and expand Cultivate in the Boulder County community and beyond.

Shannon Schiermann

Shannon Schiermann

PROGRAM SPECIALIST

Originally from Austin, Texas, Shannon moved to Fort Collins, Colorado in 2022. Even though she is new to northern Colorado, she loves it and sees it as her forever home!

Shannon has a degree in Interior Design from the University of Texas and had a successful 35-year career as a corporate space planner and designer. Her career has included extensive travel in the US and across the globe, which has allowed her to work with people from many diverse and culturally different backgrounds.

When she retired in 2019 from her corporate job, Shannon began volunteering with Meals on Wheels, enjoying connecting with the community and making friends along the way. At the same time, she began managing care for her elderly mother and, shortly thereafter, caring for an aging friend. These experiences have given her an understanding of the day-to-day challenges that our aging society faces. Shannon’s role as a Program Coordinator at Cultivate supports her natural empathy for the aging community and provides gratification in helping those in need in a meaningful way.

In her free time, Shannon and her husband enjoy all the outdoor activities that Colorado has to offer. You will find her gardening, riding her bike, hiking, and recently trying to hone her skills at playing pickleball.

With the addition of Shannon to our staff, Cultivate is now well-situated for our recent expansion into the Greeley/Weld County area!
