WE CARE ABOUT YOUR PRIVACY

We at Cultivate are thankful to all of our supporters and donors who choose to align themselves with us as a nonprofit. We appreciate the trust that you place in us and understand that you care how information about you is used and shared. We believe in transparency and are strongly committed to protecting the privacy of our current and prospective investors, clients, volunteers, and visitors to our website.

WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

We collect information from various sources, including  the personal information you voluntarily submit to us (such as when you make a donation, contact us with inquiries or requests, or register for an event), information provided by third parties, and information automatically collected through the use of our website.

We may collect the following data or information from you:

  • Personal information collected may include your name, address, phone number, email address, or other information.
  • If you make a donation to Cultivate, we also request that you provide us with additional personal information, such as credit card, billing address, and other payment information. We use this information to properly process any donation transactions you may make and communicate with you about it.
  • If you post a comment on Cultivate’s website or blog, we will collect the information you provide, such as your name, email, website, or social media profile. Your email address, however, will not be published.
  • When you call us, we may record the conversation for training and other purposes. We may also collect your name, and other contact information so we can reach you if disconnected, or to respond to your requests. 
  • We may also participate in community and other events which may require registration information from you. At such events, you may provide us with contact information directly, and/or event organizers may share registrant information with participating organizations. Information you provide directly to us is subject to this Privacy Policy. However, registration information will be subject, if at all, to third-party privacy practices.

In addition to the information that we collect from you directly, we may also receive information about you from other sources, including third parties, business partners, our affiliates, or publicly available sources. For example, if you submit a job application, client application, or volunteer application, we may request additional information from you, and we may conduct a background check.

COOKIES

We use cookies and clear GIFs. “Cookies” are small pieces of information that a website sends to a computer’s hard drive while a web site is viewed. We collect information about your use of our website through Cookies, weblogs, and other data including, the date and time you accessed or left the website, which pages you viewed, time of visits, referring website, IP address, domain name, the type of operating system in use, and the type of browser being used.   • Our website may provide you the opportunity to post comments or other information in public forums. Please note that if you post a comment on our website, blog, or social media pages, this information will be publicly available and searchable by all users of the website or service.
  • We use Cookies and analytics to evaluate use of the website and improve services. Cookies are small files created by websites that store information on your computer. Cookies allow websites to remember and tailor information to a particular user. By opting out of Cookies, some parts of our website may not be accessible or work properly.

HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION

We do not trade, rent, or sell information that you provide us with any third parties other than service providers we employ or partner with. We may share your information, including personal information, as follows:

  • We may disclose information we collect from you to third party affiliates, subsidiaries, or service providers including clients, volunteers, Cultivate partners, or other community partners. We may also share information for marketing, advertising, or research purposes. If we do so, the use and disclosure of your personal information will remain subject to this policy.
  • We may also disclose the information we collect from you in order to comply with the law, a judicial proceeding, regulation, government request, or other legal process, such as in response to a court order or subpoena.
  • Additionally, we may disclose the information when we believe it is necessary to protect Cultivate and its constituents. This may include (for example), situations involving potential or realized threats, suspected fraud, or other illegal activities. We may disclose such information where we believe it is necessary to prevent, investigate, and take action against such activities, or as evidence in litigation in which we are involved.
  • We may ask you if you would like us to share your information with other unaffiliated third parties who are nor described elsewhere in the policy.
  • If one or more parties seek or plan to acquire our company or our assets, we may share information with that company, including at the negotiation stage.

THIRD PARTY APPLICATIONS/WEBSITES

We have no control over the privacy practices of websites or applications that we do not own.  Please note that if you post a comment on our website, blog, or social media pages this information will be searchable by all users of the website or service.

SECURITY

We care about the security of your personal data and we take precautions to help prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is fully secure. While we use reasonable efforts to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information. 

Whenever we collect sensitive information (such as credit card data) that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a lock icon in the address bar and looking for https at the beginning of the address of the web page. 

While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers and servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

YOUR ACCESS TO AND CONTROL OVER INFORMATION

You may choose to provide us with your email address for the purpose of allowing us to send free newsletters, surveys, offers, and other promotional materials to you, as well as targeted offers from third parties. You can stop receiving promotional emails by following the unsubscribe instructions in e-mails that you receive. If you decide not to receive promotional emails, we may still send you service related communications. At any time, you may also request to access the data we received from you, make corrections to it, request that we delete any data we may have about you, or express concern about our use of your data.

PRIVACY POLICY CHANGES

We may, from time to time, modify this Policy based on your comments or needs, as well as changing circumstances. Please be sure to check back periodically; we may also alert you of any changes. If we make any changes to this policy in the way we use your personal information, we will attempt to contact you and obtain your consent to the change. By continuing to use the website you are saying that you accept any such modifications.
